The “Golden Country” of Burma or Myanmar is in the words of Rudyard Kipling “quite unlike any other place you know about”. And even today as Myanmar is opening up, it still remains quite removed and a world apart. But what draws us to Myanmar is its natural beauty, amazing food, the Buddhist culture and wonderful people. From the gilded temples in Yangon to magical hot air balloon rides in Bagan, from the tranquility of the Inle Lake to the dramatic underground caves at Pindaya and not to forget the cruise over the beautiful Irrawaddy, Burma will excite, impress and intrigue you.
Visit Yangon that has several cultural delights, including religious monuments, museums, and parks. Its colonial architecture is a great draw as is its most famous landmark, the gilded Shwedagon Pagoda. At Bagan be amazed by the Plain of temples, one of Asia’s greatest sights. Here you can see pagoda after pagoda, large and small, rising from the green delta plain. The best and the most comfortable way to explore Bagan is by horse cart, but also experience the slightly expensive hot air balloon ride that will help you understand the true essence of Bagan’s beauty.
