From Kandy travel to NuwaraEliya by car. The summer resort of NuwaraEliya (it stands at over 1,800m and has a mean annual temperature of 16 degrees Celcius) brings to mind the early 19th century colonial hill stations with its tea plantations, rose gardens and red-roofed bungalows. NuwaraEliya is the prime tea growing district of Sri Lanka. You will find here charming country clubs, golf courses, lakes and parks and will fall in love with the sights and sounds as you meet plantation workers on your tea trails, vegetable vendors in their modest stalls and enjoy a village-style rice and curry cooked fresh at the private bungalows just for you.
