Best Time to Visit Japan

Japan is glorious all year round, and there is no single best time to visit the country. However, the spring months between March and May are especially magical, as Japan’s sidewalks and parks are blanketed in pretty pink cherry blossoms. The blooming of the sakura seeps into everyday Japanese life, with streets filled with cherry-blossom-inspired food and desserts. Experience this enchanting season with our specially curated Japan Cherry Blossoms Holiday Package.

Hanami, or cherry blossom viewing, is cherished nationwide, in which people gather beneath the blossoms to relax, dine and celebrate the season. The weather during this season is cool and comfortable, making it the ideal time to explore Japan’s beauty.

The months between June and September are warm and humid in Japan. During this time, it is best to explore the places in the northern region rather than bustling cities. Treks on Mount Fuji are popular during these hot days. Moreover, trips to Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture of the country, are also well-loved for its natural beauty and sprawling urban areas like Sapporo and Hakodate.

The transition from Summer to Autumn in Japan is evident when the landscapes transform into red, orange and gold leaves. The temperature drops, making outdoor exploration comfortable once again. November and December are the months for a host of festivals that are celebrated with a lot of pomp.

Japanese people enjoy tsukimi, or moon viewing, and taking part in this custom is sure to be etched in your heart for a long time in the Fall. Whether be a part in the cosplay and attending a Halloween party, Japan comes alive in this season.

In Winter, temperatures dip to around single digits in Tokyo. However, with thick jackets, gloves, and a few heating pads, winter trips to Japan feel straight out of a fairytale. Beyond Tokyo, cities such as Sapporo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Hakone, and Takayama also offer enchanting winter experiences, from snow festivals and hot springs to historic streets dusted in white. Discover these magical winter moments with our thoughtfully curated Japan tour packages from India.
