Start your journey through the resplendent city of Jaipur planned by noted architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya based on the principles of Vastu Shastra. Rediscover India’s glorious past found in the history books, explore ancient palaces and marvel at the magnificent architecture.

You will explore the famous Amber Palace in the capital city of Jaipur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rocky landscape of the area is a contrast to the beautiful interiors of the palace, made of red sandstone and white marble. You will be spellbound by the carvings, precious stones and mirror work in the building. South of the city of Amber is Lake Maota, sitting right on top of the Aravalli hills, another beautiful site worth visiting.

Further, the Hawa Mahal is Jaipur’s iconic landmark built in 1799 by King Sawai Pratap Singh as a summer retreat for him and his family. This architectural wonder has 953 windows in the front part of the palace that lends the building a honeycombed hive look and the beautiful latticework allows for a cooling effect across the palace.

In Jaipur also visit the City Palace which is still home to the ruling royal family who live in a private section of the enormous palace complex. You can explore the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum which displays a vast and unique collection of royal articles and the well-preserved Rajput weaponry dating back to the 15th century and some spectacular paintings on the ceiling in the Maharani’s Palace.

In Jaipur don’t miss out the Jantar Mantar, the largest of the five astronomical observatories built by the founder of Jaipur, the colourful bazaars, the famous Laxmi Narayan Temple and the Jaigarh Fort in the Aravalli Range which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

From Jaipur, you travel with us to the paradise for wildlife enthusiasts in Ranthambore, ‘The land of Tigers’. The next stop after the unforgettable jungle safaris in the Ranthambore National Forests is the city of Udaipur.

Away from the urban bustle, the serenity found in Udaipur is a blend of regal beauty, elevated slopes and a picturesque panorama famous for its historic Rajput-era forts, grand palaces, striking lakes, architectural temples, museums, galleries and rich culture.

The best places to visit in this city include the City Palace and Museum, Jagdish Temple, Sahelion ki Bari (Queen’s resort for their friends), Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir and the Maharana Pratap Memorial.

From Udaipur take a scenic drive to the hill station of Mount Abu set on a high rocky plateau in the Aravalli Range, surrounded by forests that offer a soothing cool climate and scenic views of the arid plains.

The Nakki Lake close by is famous for its awesome view of the sunset where you can also go boating.

After exploring the beautiful hill station of Mount Abu, drive down to the ‘Golden City’ of Jaisalmer via Barmer on this journey. Your journey through this coastal area of Kerala begins at Cochin, an emerging cosmopolitan city with bustling life sensed in the streets and skyscrapers being the commercial capital of the state. Visit here, Kerala’s most famous and largest waterfall at over 80 ft height at the Athirapally Falls as was seen in the blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali’.

Later you can proceed to Munnar which rises as three mountain streams merge- Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Situated 1600 m above sea level, this hill station was once the summer capital of the British Government in India.

On the way, visit the very famous Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls. The very sight of the water crashing onto the ground will leave you mesmerized and in awe of the sheer power and magnificence of Nature.

Another prime draw for travellers in this region is Mattupetty, situated about 13 km from Munnar at a height of 1700 m above sea level. Mattupetty is known for its storage masonry dam and the beautiful lake where you can also take a boat ride and enjoy the view of the surrounding hills and greenery. The dam is flanked by forests and a vast expanse of grasslands on one side and the Kundala tea plantation on the other.

Other highlights of this visit include Rajamala, home to the endangered mountain goats- the Nilgiri Thars, and the beautiful Thekkady. The Periyar forests of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India that is spread across an entire district with its picturesque plantations and hill towns that nestle winding trails for treks and mountain walks.

This is one of the oldest tiger reserves in India that houses many endangered species including White Tigers. The best way to enjoy Periyar is from a boat or a bamboo raft on the lake. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing the wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat.

What’s more, there is also a plantation tour planned for you here, which covers tea, coffee, cardamom, pepper, cinnamon plantations and so on.

The village of Kumarakom is next on your itinerary that is a cluster of many little islands on the beautiful Vembanad Lake. The bird sanctuary in this region is spread across 14 acres of land and is a haunt for migratory birds. Egrets, Darters, Herons, Teals, and Waterfowls, Cuckoos, Wild Ducks and migratory birds including the Siberian Stork fly here in flocks to amaze the visitors.

You can also experience for a couple of hours in a motorboat cruise through the legendary backwaters of Kerala in Poovar. It is a spectacular sail through the ‘lanes of water’ passing through local coastal villages and showcasing the fascinating local lifestyle.

Day 4: After breakfast check out from your hotel. Proceed to Thekkady (approximate 3 hours long journey). Check in to your hotel. Later proceed to Periyar Lake around which the Periyar wildlife sanctuary is built.  An optional boating service can be availed.  Proceed for a plantation tour that covers tea, coffee, cardamom, pepper, cinnamon plantation and so on. Enjoy the Kathakali dance show and the Kalaripayattu show in the evening. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 5: Check out from your hotel after breakfast. Proceed to Kumarakom (approximately 3.2 hours long journey) check in to your hotel by noon. The rest of the day is for your leisure. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

You will start your journey through the cloudy abode in Shillong, the capital city of the state of Meghalaya. It is known for the beautiful wonders of nature and its pristine villages. Day 2: After breakfast, check out from your hotel.  Later, you will be transferred to Kandy, en-route to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which is a caring home for abandoned and wounded elephants. The feeding and bathing times are generally the ideal times to visit when you can observe these gentle giants at their best.

Afternoon Kandy City tour – The hill capital of Sri Lanka; Kandy, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

Kandy Lake – Kandy Lake is a great place for people to watch in the shade of the ancient trees. Go for a walk with your travel buddy. One of the unique aspects of Kandy is its laidback streets full of the colourful kaleidoscope of colonial building houses.

Temple of the Tooth relic – Explore the sacred temple of the Tooth relic, a historic location of both cultural and religious significance. The Temple of the Tooth Relic is the jewel in the heart of the old city, captivating and majestic. It is a greatly venerated site as the place that holds the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and thus attracts pilgrims from all over the world and the island.

Cultural Dance show – catch a cultural Kandyan dance show towards the end of the day. Once you have seen Kandy to your fill, climb to the top of Bahirawakanda, whose pearl white statue of Lord Buddha overlooks the entire city and watch the sunset over the plateau.

Day 3: After breakfast, check out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya, en-route visit a Tea Factory. Tea is one of the main sources of foreign exchange for Sri Lanka and is recognized as Ceylon Tea is renowned for its high quality aroma and taste. Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya Hotel.

 

Day 4: After breakfast, go on a Nuwara Eliya city tour.

Boat ride on Gregory Lake – Your trip to Nuwara Eliya is not complete without a walk along the picturesque path of Gregory Lake amidst the cool breeze and the hues of the sunset, Gregory Lake was used for watersports and promenades during colonial times.

Have a Taste of Unique Nuwara – Try some of the freshest strawberries right from the very hub of the delicious and tangy fruit and explore the city for east line the famous potato spiral.

Smell the bloom at Hakgala Gardens – At 5400 ft above sea level, the hakgala botanical garden has a history dating back to 1862. Take a walk amidst the blooms and become captivated.

Explore the city’s Colonial History – Nuwara Eliya is full of colonial buildings such as the famous Post Office which is housed in an 1894 Tudo Manor.

Day 5: After breakfast, drive to Yala.

Evening Safari at Yala National Park: Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public and also adjoining parks. Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents is the world’s biggest concentration of leopards.

Day 6:  After breakfast, proceed to Bentota.

En route visit Galle Fort. The Galle Fort is the best preserved among the colonial forts in Sri Lanka.

Day 7: After Breakfast explore Bentota

Breif Garden – This garden is crafted in a Japanese-style design and the feel will take you back to the colonial days. Bevis Bawa is a well-known architect and this garden was his home earlier. You can go through most of his beautiful works during your visit.

Turtle Hatchery – You will get to see up to five endangered species of turtles hatching and crisscrossing each other. Especially for nature lovers, this spot is considered the most enchanting place to visit in Bentota.

Madu River Boat Safari – This safari is a nature paradise coupled with rich wildlife experiences. There are over a hundred and eleven bird species to watch and click pictures of. It is also a popular spot for ecologists as well as biologists. On the amazing boat rides along the river and you can explore numerous sights while spending time with the local guides.

Cinnamon Island – This Island is famous for its age-old cinnamon plantation wherein you can learn and explore every small detail about the spice, cinnamon, from how it is processed to how it is used. For generations, this place has been taken care of by a single-family.

Bentota Water Sports – You can enjoy a variety of Water sports here such as water skiing, windsurfing, banana ride, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, and tube rides.

After sightseeing, return to the hotel.
