Kanha National Park

This is where Mowgli, the man cub, met Bagheera -- a land that was Rudyard Kipling’s much-loved territory. You will love the spectacular sal and bamboo forests here, interspersed with grasslands, ravines, and hills. Its inhabitants include the tiger, leopard, jungle cat, wild boar, barking deer, hyena, wild dog and the extremely rare barasingha (swamp deer), among others. And if you’re really lucky you might just catch a glimpse of a Mottled Wood owl or a giant Flying Squirrel here. With more than 260 species of birds, Kanha is also a bird-watchers paradise. Best time to visit is from October to June. The national park in India is accessible from Jabalpur, Raipur, and Nagpur in Madhya Pradesh by road through regular taxi services. On this holiday, enjoy the enchanting forest, explore local villages with their traditional architecture and colorful markets and make this a trip of a lifetime.
