On the way to Jaipur, make a quick stop at Fatehpur Sikri, located about 40 kilometres from Agra. The city, founded by Emperor Akbar, is an architectural marvel. Wander around the centre to stumble across historical highlights such as Hawa Mahal and the impressive City Palace. Close to the City Palace is another prominent structure of Jaipur, the Hawa Mahal. Built of red and pink sandstone, this unique palace resembles a honeycomb hive. Jaipur is well known for its kaleidoscopic bazaars, traditional crafts and designs, so it’s the place to shop for fabrics and presents to take home.

For wildlife lovers, a stop at the Ranthambore National Park is recommended for close encounters wih India’s majestic tigers.
